How long will Metformin cart to work w/PCOS?

I have not long been diagnosed w/PCOS and begin taking Metformin last week. I'm on 500mg of the XR (extended release) performance. I haven't had a time since Nov. 2006. Should I expect to get a term soon, or after 30 days, like a commonplace cycle? I'm not overweight (5'6"/122) and I don't have acne or quill problems. My only signs of the PCOS be irregular periods (which be corrected while I was on bc) and cysts on my ovaries. Do you come up with I'm on the right dose? We are ready to concieve, how long til this is contained by my system? Also, will having a beer or two mess me up w/this prescription?

It takes at least possible 2-4 weeks for the medication to stabilize your system. I personally am on 2000mg for Metformin day by day and have be for some time.

All though it seems that woman who do not own extreme PCOS (overwt, facial hair etc.) Seem to respond to the Metformin more swiftly than those who (like me) have the more extreme PCOS. I would voice at least a month or 2 and don't be surprised if your doctor have you take clomid shortly.

As far as the alcohol, your not supposed to drink while your taking Metformin but occasionally a cup of wine or beer won't hurt, just don't trademark a habit of it.

Can a gynecologist report youve had sex?

it say DO NOT take alcohol near this medicine! be wary!

I tried using a tampon a few months ago but it wudnt go in and i felt dizzy afterwards but i rlly involve to?

I had poblems next to conception and wasn't really diagnosed with PCOS, but showed some signs of it. My doc prescribed it (500 mg) and it worked fast. I don't know if it was merely a coincidence or what...but I got pregnant directly! It was crazy! lol.

Everyone will take action differently to the meds. My husband and I are trying for a second child. My periods own been coming every 4 months...which really make it hard to conceive. I've be on the Metformin since Sept and nothing on the other hand. My periods are still coming in the region of every 4 months. Don't give up and hang on to going.

If you're trying to actively conceive, you shouldn't be drinking beer anyways. Stay away from the stuff. If you're having irregular period...you'll never know when you could be pregnant and you don't want to risk the health of your child by consuming alchohol.

Good luck!!
