The patch won't really back with while taking Chantix. My explanation is that Chantix was blocking the brains potential to take surrounded by the nicotine while at the same time creating a similar dopamine effect. I took Chantix and it worked great for me. I smoked during the first week and quit on daytime 8 when I ran out of cigarettes. I didn't own any physical cravings but still had the behavioral cravings. That still comes posterior from time to time and I haven't smoked since October. I've been rotten of Chantix since December. Prepare to get an upset stomach for around 30 minutes after taking the medicine once you get the higher dose. Bizarre dreams are also a side effect...but also a bit fun at indistinguishable time. LOL. Good luck with quitting!
My doctor told me that you could do them both. Cantix works on the brain function for the cravings.and the patch is simply the nicotine you give yourself to substitute getting it instead of smoking. Beware.look out for nausia taking chantix. I took it, and even minus the patch, I got pretty sick to my stomach. Felt similar to throwing up, but never did. I probably should have stayed on it, I am still smoking. I forgot I have a month's supply still in my cupboard. I lately might give it another try to see how I quality with it. Its an anti smoking etc. You need to wear it as long as it say. I think I don`t know it should be replaced every 24 hours but read the instuctions. I'm not a doctor, but I beleive the way Chantix works it really make wearing the patch useless. It is my understanding that it works by triggering the nicotine receptors in duplicate way nicotine does, and it also blocks to some amount nicotine from being used by your system.I smoked 1 1/2 pack a day for 16 years and took Chantix and own been minus a cigarette for 4 weeks. I would try it without.
