If you use the Nuva Ring exactly as it should be used, the efficacy rating is 99%, which is similar to the shot and patch, and slightly higher than the 97% efficacy rating of the pill.

Update: There is a spermicidal product on the bazaar called VCF (Vaginal Contraceptive Film). Its an OTC product to be exact easy to insert, shouldn't interfere beside the Nuva Ring (as it melts nearly instantly!) and would grant you a secondary queue of defense.

Sorry I didn't think of it sooner!

If you're not interested in other types of condoms, next what you're really saying is that you're not interested in protecting yourself against STI's. Suck it up and use non-latex condoms. This is not more or less preventing pregnancy - it's about abiding your life.

Sister within law is 32 yrs. she d'nt want more child. She tested positive. Is near any pills for termination?

I'm sorry you're having a complicated time finding answers to your question.

NuvaRing, when used correctly, is in fact over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy. (I'm sure you already know this.) As long as you variety sure it stays inserted and remove it after 3 weeks (and remember to reinsert it on time), your chances of becoming pregnant are extremely slim.

However, you could consider a chain form of contraception for yourself. The diaphragm, maybe? Or, if you want OTC protection, consider the sponge combined beside spermicide. You'd be a brick wall then. ;)

Hope that help.

**EDIT** I'm sorry, I didn't think in the order of the possibility of the diaphragm/etc. affecting the placement of the Ring.
