Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome after hysterectomy.. still have it or not? I think I would.?

I was diagnosised near PCOS when I was surrounded by high institution - a while back (more than a few years). Anyway, I have to have a total hysterectomy due to severe endometresis and adhesion. My question, wouldn't I still enjoy PCOS since it's a more than an ovary issue? I can't seem to find an answer from my doc. Anyone in St. Louis nouns know a doc that's good?

How exactly do WOMANS CONDOMS work?

My foreboding on this is yes, you would technically still have PCOS since it is in actuality an endocrine system disorder, not a reproductive system disorder. Of course, you will not have the hormonal symptoms since you no longer own ovaries, but you still have to settlement with the underlying insulin problems.

PCOS is typically cause by insulin resistance. This is not the same article as diabetes, although it can lead to diabetes. Insulin resistance is a disorder where the cells hold trouble using glucose, so it takes longer than run of the mill for your body to bring glucose levels down to ordinary. This causes the pancreas to produce more insulin because it "thinks" more is needed, so the excess insulin basically accumulates surrounded by the body. The excess insulin is thought to affect the ovaries, causing them to produce too several male hormones, which is how it cause PCOS.

People who have insulin resistance (but not diabetes) will enjoy normal fast glucose levels, because the body can still receive blood sugar levels down to conventional. This means that diagnosing insulin resistance requires a glucose tolerance tryout (measures how quickly the body uses glucose) or an insulin audition (measures levels of insulin in the bloodstream). Having fast glucose levels that are better than normal is a sign that your body's facility to stabilize glucose levels is more impair than it would be in most those with insulin resistance, and is a restrictive sign that insulin resistance may be progressing to type 2 diabetes.

As for the doctor, I'm not in St. Louis so I can't be of much help in that. Check over on www.soulcysters.net--they have a "Find a Doctor" unit where women near PCOS can recommend doctors to one another.

Pink tinted urine, severe abdominal pain, chills, and disorientation.. what is it ?

Can't answer about a doc contained by St. Louis. Hope to visit in that someday. PCOS can be due to high insulin (hyperinsulinemia) making chemical reaction happen that make other chemicals gluey (like cholesterols).

I think PCOS can still crop up when the uterus is gone, because the ovaries should still be cystic, but it may not do anything bad, lead to there is no uterine wall to produce hemorrhage against. If you are still having symptoms similar to you did when you were contained by high institution, definitely keep hold of looking for that new doctor.

You may want to check out www.hufa.org and check yourself for low blood sugar (one result of hyperinsulinemia).
