How do you feel about Plan B being available OTC.?
.especially since it contains the same hormone that can be found surrounded by birth control pills that are only available by prescription. Would you expect that birth control pills should also be available over the counter, or do you devise Plan B should only be available by prescription?
Please restrain yourself from moral debate on the ethics of birth control and abortion (Plan B is not indistinguishable as RU-486); I'm asking for input from a medical point of view. I find the different standards applied a touch confusing and hope that your input may help me put this surrounded by perspective.
Thank you all!

Vaginal odor after a few days on term + tampons?
I think it should be OTC. The concern roughly the hormone content of Plan B is legitimate. But as dead set against the Pill women don't have to give somebody a lift it for long periods of time. True, here are certain risks associated near it, but the medical benefits of preventing an unwanted pregnancy and a possible abortion outweighs its risks.
You should also consider that many women do not enjoy access to immediate medical concern either because of shortage of insurance or because of the distance they might have to travel to escape the prejudice of their local community.
In an just the thing world i would say yes, it should be prescribed, but sometimes we basically have to settle for the subsequent best thing.
Bleeding after sex/masturbation?
i'm not too jubilant about it ,too me its approaching an instant abortion why cant men and women take 2 minutes to protect respectively other if they dont want kidsHow much does it hurt when u go to the Gynocologist? be honest plzzz?
I estimate it is fine, women should have any chance they want to control unplanned pregnancy.good question. it is relatively the contradiction that i've never thought of. Given thatone type of birth control doesn't have alike amount of hormones as another birth control pill. Plan B should be perscribed. Plan B may not be right for everyone just resembling one type of birth control may not be right for everyone.
Speaking from experience, I got pregnant even though I took plan B otc. I took it smaller amount then 48 hours after the condom broke and get stuck inside me. 11 weeks later, I be faced near a positive pregnancy result and an u/s confirming how far along I was. (Which confirmed the plan B failed).
I intuitively think it give people a false sense of secuirty. Is it worng for it to be sold otc? No. However, if it is suppose to be 85% forceful if taken within 72 hours, capably guess what, I am part of the 15%. I still have to face the facts of do I enjoy an abortion? Do I keep the toddler? So yes it is good to own available, but it is not a miricle pill. I did not think I could be pregnant because I took the plan B. All that happen was I realize too far along that I was pregnant. Which be fine because I have a beuatiful daughter immediately from it. How do I explain that to her, you tell me?
I devise it should be by prescription ONLY. My daughter was raped & have the plan b or " morning after" pill and I belive that it will be to redally avallable for people to filch if it is otc. People who are raped will be more apt to not go to the hospital because they can go and get this pill, and not have to move about through all the agony of the court system and still not get pregnant.Their are so plentiful things this pill not monitured will harm. I do belive that it a big mistake to engender this pill otc. Right now we are competent to get this drug if needed but by dr. just. Our kids are not able to go-between for themselves what is best for them, so if just for them. It's best to hold on to the drug Rx only.
Is it regular to fart a lot on yr interval?
Well if I wanted some birth control pills adjectives I would have to do is show up at any planned parenthood/most sexual strength clinics and ask for a free 3 month supply right then and here no questions asked. (ok, they might want to do an exam on you to product sure you are healthy and not already pregnant)I should merely hope that people wouldn't bring extra birth control pills instead of plan B. Maybe then it is a well-mannered thing that Plan B is "more accessible" so it would be easier to purely go to the pharmacy and pick some up a bit than calculate how several birth control pills equal one plan B pill, which isn't safe on so tons levels by the route. If doctors are looking to provide safety for the standard public, they did a good entry. Also, to use plan B, you have a maximun of 72 hours after your "accident" to use the pill. The subsequent you use it, the chances of it had it are greater. So picture the logistics, you have to spawn an appointment- which may not be the same sunshine, the doctor might want to examine you (they do if you want the pill) then you own to go seize your perscription filled. Lets hope within is a walgreens in your nouns because not all pharmacies are get underway all the time. So by the time you find your plan B, your time might be up or at least your likelihood of the pill working are cut in half. I wasn't contained by the room when they voted on this but I'd say they made the finding to protect the safety of the common population and they considered the logistics of using this pill.
