Mirena/ Mirena vs. Other Birth Control

Why does the Mirena website suggest you already have one child prior to getting the implant? I'm currently penetrating around for an ideal birth control and so far pills and things I have to insert prior to intercourse are not option. I kinda have my mind already set on Mirena but I'm open to suggestions.

Answers:    It worked great for me. I kept mine within for 4 yrs. I never got pregnant and there be no discomfort. You couldn't even tell it was within. I had a period for give or take a few the first year, and after that it was gone. It was the best risk for me. Good luck..
What my OB/GYN told me was that after you have a child, your cervix remains slightly dilated, which make insertion of the IUD easier and less "uncomfortable".
If you don't plan on having any children for the subsequent 5 years for sure, check your insurance coverage for IUD's and see about getting one. If you aren't sure, or you have other issues beside periods, like acne or PMS, budge with the pill to help next to those symptoms plus prevent pregnancy.
Typically with Mirena, you can get pregnant the month after it is removed. With the pill/shot, it can lift up to a year for your cycle to return to normal.

Good luck..
b/c if you ha vent had a child it will be difficult for you to own one after you get off minera
