What if I used my tampon for over 8 hours?

ok this is regarding my cousin, yes she lives near me
last dark she used her tampon and went to sleep, but forgot to set her alarm. This morning, she woke up postponed, and told me that she had over worn her tampon for 5 hours! I be shocked, yes 5 hours.
so she wore her tampon for 13 hours (she didn't sleep for that long tho, it's only after the shower)
And very soon she's shoked, and scared. She doesn't want to inform her parents, because she's afraid.
And now she's get ME scared, so does anyone know if anything impossible's gonna happen? resembling TSS? or symptoms?
Please help, because I enjoy absolutely no notion.

About the 'worst' that could appear from wearing a tampon too long is 'heavy ooze' ... a tampon should be changed every four or five hours for that reason ... and most women who wear them should nick them out and wear a 'pad' to bed, because it is 'uncertain' to have a tampon surrounded by you for 24 hours up to 6 days in a row. The 'symptoms' of TSS are hallucination, flushing (red skin) and what looks like 'broken blood vessel' in the palms of the hand at the 'fattest part' ... but I'm going to read out that the chances are VERY SLIM that your cousin is in any material 'danger' ... and also that she requirements to be 'more aware' so she doesn't 'overwear' her tampons any more. The 'first time' may be okay, but if she gets into the 'fruitless habit' her probability of getting TSS will go UP dramatically.

This may not be much help.but I own done the same piece quite a few times for alot longer than 8 hours. I would purely keep an eye out for any symptoms. But most potential she will be fine :)

yes you can get tss by wearing a tampon for too long, but to bring up to date you the truth, it is very special, and probably won't happen. if she starts to find flu like symptoms consequently she should talk to her doctor or parents, and enlighten them about the tampon and that she may hold gotten it but more than likely she will be merely fine.

About Sex?

aslong as she isn't having any of the TSS symptoms she should be fine (feeling sick, dizzyness, headache etc)
maybe she should lay rotten tampons for a while though and its probably better to use towels instead of tampons at night!

OK, a rule of thumb is every time you pee, change the tampon and again beforehand you shower. I never wore tampons to bed, would use a pad . Many years ago within were tampons call Rely, that caused TSS, I wound up have endo problems and had a hyster at aged 28, to some extent due to using those tampons. I am not saying that a tampon will wreak TSS or other problems, but they need to be used properly to prevent infection. If it is a greatly light afternoon near the appendage, if you are not going to the beach, use a panty liner.

It should be fine...it probably happen to everyone now and afterwards. Just keep an eye out for disorientation or other abnormal symptoms. It's not especially likely that it will hurt anything.

I've slept for like 12 or 14 hours and not changed mine. It;s not a biddable idea, but TSS is dying out. She would have already started getting symptoms, so I'd influence she's fine. Just so you know the symptoms are:
sudden fever of 103 or greater, fainting or to hand fainting when standing up, dizziness, diarrhea, unthinking that looks like sunburn.

Actually, TSS could take effect weather or not u wear ur tapon more than 2-4 hours. BUT, i really dont ruminate there is anything to verbs abou, just monitor her appetite and if she get sick, not from the thought of wearing a tampon for 13 hrs , but sick in general. Honey, she will be fine. If she get's sick after it's time to worry, but I hold been surrounded by situations where I hold worn it for A LONG time and never ever had any problems. It really isn't a big operate. Just read about TSS and revise the symptoms.
