Nipples/Areola?

What is the difference? I have pink areola but no distinction on where on earth the nipple is. Could someone explain?

The nipple is the part that stands out and become erect (hard) when you are cold, excited, etc. - contrary to what the other answerer said, milk comes mostly from the areola. anyway, if your nipples don't stand up above you areola, you could have inverted nipples, which can come about. It's not a cause for alarm though. Sometimes within is a difference in color between the two and sometimes nearby isn't.
