Well, over here (Canada), you see a doctor because he/she will prescribe the pill to you, so you can progress buy some.. and to be honest, I can't remember how much they are.Typically you see a doctor or nurse practitioner who does a basic pelvic exam and medical history. After that she'll discuss the different types of birth control to integer out which one works best for you.
The pill may be covered by your insurance. If not it'll probably set you back $20 - $30 a month. I use Nuvaring (love it!) and that runs me roughly $40 a month. Much less expensive than a child!
You see a doctor so they can integer out what is best for you (what kind of pill). This is not expensive at adjectives, also you can go to places and bring back it for free like planned parent hood. Just remember that the pill 100%. I speak of experience I hold had 2 kids while on the pill and yes i took it everyday at one and the same never missed a dose. Also it does not keep u from getting STD
