Answers:
Doctors should be much more specific when they speak to patients. If they be Health Answers would only own have partially the questions that it does immediately.
Fluid in the tummy brings only one article to mind ascites. This can be caused by liver, heart, kidney, ovary or pancreatic problems. It can also be associated next to tumours of the abdomen. Assuming your doctor is correct going on for the ascites diagnosis in the first place, you will enjoy to wait for more investigation.
i own previously had this problem which showed up on a scan after complaining of stomach strain. The doctor diognosed me with an infection and put me on three different antibiotics which did abet.
I suspect you mean free fluid. Free fluid contained by the abdomen is usually merely present in totally tiny amounts. Increased amounts can be due to a variety of conditions, rupture or hemorrhage from ovarian cysts, kidney or liver disease, bleeding from injuries, infections, etc. are newly a few possibilities. Sound like you are following up near your doctor. This would be a good cross-question to ask your doctor.
Worried over missed period! Should I be?
I suppose they will investigate what the fluid is 1st. Ie blood from an organ. In medication (gastroenterology), ascites (also known as peritoneal cavity fluid, peritoneal fluid excess, hydroperitoneum or more archaically as abdominal dropsy) is an group of fluid in the peritoneal cavity. Although most commonly due to cirrhosis and severe liver disease, its presence can portend other significant medical problems. Diagnosis of the result in is usually with blood test, an ultrasound scan of the abdomen and direct removal of the fluid by nozzle or paracentesis (which may also be therapeutic). Treatment may be with medication (diuretics), paracentesis or other treatments directed at the make happen.
I would speak to your doc re this though to see what he/she says
