Is there a contraceptive slip avaliable that stops periods? If so, where on earth can I find it?

I'm looking for an implant that stops period but doesn't interfere with long residence fertility. I saw something on the news in the order of one a while ago - got something to do next to increasing or decreasing hormones so the body wont have monthly periods
