I get Mirena when it first came on the souk, about 2 years after my son be born. My experience was miserable for the five months I did hold it.The insertion was proper torture; I cried when they inserted it, and couldn't move for 1/2 hour afterward without premonition like I be going to pass out.
The subsequent five months were misery. I have only something like 10 non-bleed days TOTAL out of those months; my periods be WAY longer than they should have be, the cramping was the doubled-over gasping-for-breath type of cramping. Sex NEVER happen because it hurt so badly.
Finally, I started to hemorrhage and found out at the hospital that the IUD have punctured my uterus and they had to surgically remove it.
If anyone told me I needed to enjoy another IUD fitted, I would tell them to simply take me out fund and shoot me dead! I will NEVER do that again. Thankfully, I'm no longer a applicant because of the post-perforation scarring.
Nope. Give me the pill anytime.
BTW, 20% of all IUD users hold their devices removed within the first 12 months because of medical emergency or undesirable side effects.
I got the Mirena after I have my daughter. You cramp up really bad when they insert it. I have to stay in the department for 30 min after because I was too dizzy to drive. My strings be cut too short so I couldn't check for placement and had to own a sonogram to make sure it be where it be supposed to be. I stopped having period completely which was the individual great thing. When I go in for my PAP smear a year then they had to do another sonogram to check placement, I developed ovarian cysts and have to have lapascopic surgery to own them removed (OUCH)! And because the strings were too short to remove the IUD within the office my doctor have to put me under anesthesia to remove it. Just steal the pill, the IUD is too much to worry give or take a few.
I own Mirena and love it. I had no discomfort having it inserted....I don't even know the piece is there. I did hold a lot of spotting for the first six months but in a minute I just own spotting once a month. Before having Mirena I have heavy uncomfortable periods but not anymore. I craving I would have gotten it sooner.
