I got my time of year when I was 12 and I also other wore v-strings so I just started wearing tampons. I enjoy never used pads during the day- eww and yuck, when you wear tampons you can't even grain that you are wearing them and you can't feel yourself bleed.
Buy a couple of different types, eg mini and regular tampons a moment ago to see which once suit your flow the best.

In stores, they market pad's that are fit for tampons. It's not a atrociously great idea if your term is heavy, but if reading light its fine.

I try to avoid thongs when I'm on my period.

However, they do gross pads and panty liner specifically for thongs, you can try that. Not a great idea next to a heavy flow though.

I don't know going on for you, but I don't want to ruin decent underwear so I try to wear older pairs when on my period. Just a thought.

it's call a tampon. and why are you concerned about wearing thongs so much? I wear them but I'm also elder than you. No one else should be seeing your panties anyways at your age so why does it matter if you wear thongs or whatnots?..especially when you're on your length. When I'm on mine, all I want to wear is regular panties, a tampon, liner, and sweatpants.
