Has anyone ever been prescribed pain med for pain from an ovarian cyst?

I have be diagnosed with a functional ovarian cyst and my doc put me support on the birth control to see if that would make it walk away. She said to give it 2-3 months. When I turn back for my subsequent doc visit within may, if it is still hurting me she will refer me to a doc that can help me further near it. But it's been something like 2 1/2 months and I am still feeling it. My give somebody the third degree is, can I get a discomfort med (percocet or lortab) prescribed till we know what is going to be done? Ibuprophen (anti-inflammitory) did nothing.

What concerned of day am i have?

I have Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, so I totally have a handle on how painful that is to say. Any way yea you should be capable of get some low dose discomfort med for it. Hopefully the birth control will shrink it, that is what your doctor is trying. but in the scrounging time you should give her a phone call and ask for something for the pain. she should be likely to give you ample to help through may, and seeing a specialist if it is needed.

Hope that help

Diverticulitis Diet!!?

Several years ago I had a immense one removed, I didn't wait for it to reabsorb, as suggested, because I be afraid it might rupture. So it was removed, but since next, the scar tissue have been tight. They call this adhesion. You may think you can't stand it in a minute, but try the second doctor, see what they suggest. The hormones in birth control may help out, but could take the 3 months your doc have said...
Ibu did nothing for my anguish, some other anti inflamatory may work better. You don't want to take something which could impair your driving, or any other aspect of your lifestyle.
Good luck, you will generate it through this. Keep asking your sisters out here, We need to stick together!!

Why did the doctor put me on Lutera for Birth Control?

I also own a cyst. I noticed mine after wake up one night within severe pain. When I go to the dr. they said I had one that have ruptured but I still had another one on my other ovary. After going wager on a few months later it is still in that, but it's nothing she is worried going on for. My doctor gave me Tramadol, which is a non-narcotic misery medicine which worked hugely well. I'm not sure if your dr. will prescribe the others b/c they are importantly addictive. Next time you see them ask for the tramadol first and see how that helps. Good luck!
