It just happen sometimes. It will open eventually and drain. Could be an ingrown . I would walk see the doctor. You could also hot pack it to, if it is some sore of pimple the heat will minister to draw out what is in within.
It's hard to exactly pinpoint what that lump is minus examining it. When you said that it's "outside of my vagina", did you mean that the lump is exactly at the vaginal debut? Or is somewhere near the gap?
If the lump is at the vaginal opening, it could be a uterine prolapse (uterus have dropped from its position within the pelvis into your vagina due to thin pelvic muscles), specially if it developed after the delivery of your child.
It can also be something else, close to a benign cyst.
I would recommend a thorough physical exam of that lump by your physician.
