Side affects of birth control pills?

My boyfriend and his mom really want me to get on the pill but i really dont want to. i dont see how it works and what it does and what are the benefits. i really dont want to but my bf keep bringing it up and i start yelling because i am really against it. so is it all that unpromising or good? i chew over its a pointless pill . that's pretty much it.

Pill now adays contain highly micro amounts of harmones & thus have really little side effects. They are very important for contraception & mimiks the natural harmones of body.
They are to be taken carefully if u have any departed histroy of liver disorder,if u r having elevated blood pressure or family h/o of ovarian cancer or breast cancer within mother or sisters ,if u are very obese otherwise pills r watertight for contraception.
