Really silly question give or take a few Pro-Ana?
Why do the girls spell it ANA when Anorexia is ANO? Wouldn't that make it Pro-Ano? All the girls at my academy are doing the Pro-Ana thing and it's a bit stupid.

Because Ana is a womanly name and Ano is not. They refer to their ingestion disorders as if they were friends.ED, Ana and Mia.

It is a bit stupid. I think they do it to provide it more of a human face and to sort it seem smaller amount clinical and dangerous and more similar to a fun little club. It's the same entry with the Pro-Mia refuse. Do you notice they both hold cute little female name?The use of the word "Ana" and "Mia" (for Bulimia) serve to put together the diseases sound human and close to a friend. If you read posts on these sites, the girls almost seem to respect their disorders as friends. "Ana" is a girl's name, "Ano" doesn't nouns much like a cross.
