and it hurt similar to hell. My question is, is it destructive to have this exam during the time my breasts are so tender (right back my period)? And the compression of the breast can't be good on the breast tissues.

I have never hear any reliable studies or information backing up the notion that compression can harm breast tissue. But, the worst time to gain a mammogram is when the breasts are tender. Mammography can be painful within this situation. Next year, remember this and schedule your mammogram for after you enjoy ended your term. Over the counter pain reliever can be used. Also, some services recommend that you limit your caffine intake (soda, coffee, tea etc) for a few days prior to your mammogram if breast pain is an issue for you. I am sorry you had such a discouraging experience.

It is not noxious to have it when your breast are tender and it is not a problem to compress the breast tissues. Since you said it hurt approaching hell you should have told the technician this. It should not "hurt approaching hell". It is not pleasant but doesn't hurt like that.

I can express sympathy with you on that. I enjoy a lot of breast cancer surrounded by my family and own been getting them since I be 32 years old. I hold read some controversial articles on whether the compression can be harmful or not to the breast tissue. My suggestion is though. . . . .some pain for a few minutes is far more worth it than have nothing to compress any longer and anyone really disfigured and going bald. The psychological stomach-ache of that is far worse than the few minutes of physical distress.

Late / Missing period & firm stomach?

I am 24 and I had a mammogram end year. It was deeply uncomfortable and for a moment painful, but mostly I be uncomfortable from the procedure that be going on.

Breasts do get sore around that time of the month, so I picture that "squishing" them during this will hurt more. However, I don't think it's bleak for you.

Next time (in 1-2 years, according to the American Cancer Society), schedule your mammogram the week AFTER your time of year. That way, you won't be as mortified. It may not hurt like hell after, but it will still be uncomfortable. The cramp is not necessarily the breast "tissues" being squashed, but the swelling, and breast agony before menses is remarkably common.

Your comment just about breast compression not being worthy on the breast tissues is unfounded. Believe me, I would be bright and breezy to retire tomorrow if they would find that mammography compression caused more impair than good. The in front of is true, actually...the more compression you receive, the smaller quantity the amount of radiation to the breast. There is less providence of repeat films because of motion or underexposure, too.
