IUD for Birth Control?

I want to get an IUD and want any info anyone have, especially personal experiences! thank you!
Answers:

My siblings just asked me and i give them a stupid answer?

An IUD wouldn't be my first choice of Birth Control because there is a opening with implantation. My girlfriend's son be a preemie & weight 2 lbs. @ birth beside an IUD, he is alive & thriving.

Where did my period stir?

Probably the best with milder side effects except you allow it gain infected.

Please help. I don't know why this is happenening?

First, be aware that the Mirena IUD (the most commonly used type of IUD) have hormones in it, so if you're considering it as an alternative to the pill because of hormonal upset, this may not solve the problem.

I have Mirena inserted when it first came on the open market. I must have be an exceptional case because my time near it was miserable.

The insertion be so painful I cried. Afterward, I have bleeding and cramping that terrified me, and I'd nearly bled to passing in childbirth!

Then for the subsequent 5 months, I had have more bleed days than not. I had constant cramps, sex be unbearable, and the IUD eventually punctured my uterus so thoroughly that I have to have it surgically removed. To this afternoon I have defect tissue from it that can be seen on ultrasounds and completely blocks my right fallopian tube.

I know I'll probably grasp a TON of thumbs downs for this answer, but you asked specifically for personal experiences and what side effects I had, so in attendance you go. I would fairly be taken out and shot than to be told I needed to get another IUD.

There are two forms of IUD commonly used: Mirena ( http://www.mirena-us.com ) and Para-Gard/Copper only ( http://www.paragard.com ). The copper-only will inflict EXTREME cramping, heavier and more irregular bleeding, just some info.
