Does mirena hurt?
i am scheduled to bring mirena put in on wednesday and i am getting afraid. i keep reading the pamphlet and it said the cramping can be **severe** when inserted. i don't hold many option for birth control right now, i bear topamax, which kind of make oral birth control useless, ortho evra was working fine but after my skin started breaking out really bad from it adjectives the sudden. i'm kind of a wimp and immediately i feel close to backing out if the cramps might be SEVERE.

I have one inserted almost 4 years ago.
When I had it put within, it was uncomfortable-similar to a pap, but not unendurable. For a couple of days I was crampy, kinda approaching a period cramp.
Since then-- NOTHING. No cramps, no period. When it is 'that time of the month' I have for a while spotting, but nothing to hold to wear anything. I haven't had any feminine products in my house for over three years.
This be the compromise by my ob. I wanted my tubes tied, she thought I be too young. I have a 14 mo old, and be 6 mos pregnant.
It has be wonderful for me. No side effects, no maintenance, no period.
FYI: It does not prevent STD-so use a condom if you're not in a committed relationship, and
It does not prevent PMS.
Relax, it will be a couple of self-conscious days, but the benefit is sooooo worth it.
Are you not supposed to be "spotting" upon a visit to the gyno?
