I have a quiz about the Depo-provera shot...can someone oblige?

A little over a week ago I got the depo-provera shot. Exactly a week latter I had unprotected sex. The year I got the shot I read on the drugs formal website that the shot takes effect quickly. It literally said that once you walked out of your physician's clinic it would enjoy started working. I then today read on wikipeda.com that it can pinch up to two weeks for some people. I'm curious if anyone have a solid answer or personal experience on the subject. I just want to product sure there's a slim to none indiscriminate I'm pregnant. Thanx everyone ^_^

When I had my first depo shot, I be told to wait 7 days in the past having unprotected sex as sometimes it take a while for the drug to start filtering out of your muscle into your body. The likelihood of you getting pregnant because of this are, in reality, pretty slim - you would own to be at the right stage of your cycle on top of this as very well. I think the doctors are covering their arses by unfolding you not to have sex

I've be on the Depo shot now going on 5yrs. I be told when starting birth control or switching birth controls it can take up to a month to regulate contained by your body. Just keep track of extent start and end date and if concerned get a pregnancy question paper. Or if Depo does to you like me I dont get hold of my period and so that would not work. Best suggestion after would be just acquire a prego test that have the early detection.

Where I work, we have to EDUCATE the women we pass the Depo shots to... didn't anyone give you information where on earth you got your shot?! Grrrr... what we narrate women is they should wait two weeks until that time they have unprotected sex. The shot starts working as soon as your body starts to engage the hormone, but two weeks is when you can be sure it is fully able to protect you. This doesn't aim you are definately pregnant, it's a toss of the coin. So, your next move would be a home pregnancy experiment, which can give you a result 24-48 hours after unprotected sex. How do I gain rid of skin tabs that hold grown under my breast, what cause them?

1. wikipedia is only as powerful and truthful as those EDITING it. I would not use wiki as a reliable source of information.

2. did your doctor TELL you anything? He/she should have told you when you can start have sex without using other forms of protection.

3. Get OFF of depo! I be on it for four years and had horrible side affects. I am not the one and only one! Weight gain, mood swings, spotting, etc... and you need a bone density check after five years because of how horrible it screw with your bone strength.

Is it normal that i have my period for simply one day?

From what i know, when you obtain your first shot, you have to hang around 7 days before it take effect and then when you seize the follow up shots (keeping in mind that they are taken at the right time), they work straitght away. Heard that from 3 doctors so im guessing it must be true.
