When I first started using tampons, I asked the same interrogate. But you have nil to worry just about. The hole that it goes contained by is not the same hole that you pee out of. The hole you pee out of is terribly tiny, right under the clitoris. Whereas the hole you stick the tampon contained by is much farther down. So yes, go ahead and pee.
