That really depends on when YOU ovulate. Every woman ovulates at a different time. The average time for a "fail-safe cycle" is between 12-14 days, but very few women hold a "perfect" cycle. If you're TTC, get a home ovulation tracking gear, look up symptoms of ovulation on some parenting websites, and talk to your doctor roughly speaking tracking your ovulation cycle. If there isn't an egg to fertilize when you hold sex, you won't get pregnant, so figure out when you ovulate will cut down your trying time by a great deal hopefully.

most definately.if you are trying, you should possibly start 11 days after the first day until 1 day after ovulation to be sure...ovulation would be the fourteenth day after the first day that you bleed, but i am guessing you already know that.

It's like 16 bucks at Amazon (get the th anniversary edition!) have GREAT information and is a super easy read. It tell you how to figure out if you are ovulating and next you aim to have sex afterwards!
