Depo provera side effects...?

I've been on Depo on and sour for about 3 yrs presently... mostly on. This last year though (2006) I started notice an incredible amount of body hair on me right after I get off of it. I close-fisted, all over... obverse, stomach, chest, butt... EVERYWHERE! (lol) Its actually gotten to the point where on earth I'm thinking of getting laser hair removal. Its pretty gross and embarrasing and I want to know if anyone else have experienced this and does it go away on its own. I be told this was a side effect road back when I first get it but... I don't know, is it permanent??
Answers:

I have my tubes tied almost 4 years ago?

I have be on depo provera for 3 years now and i havn't have that side effect (thank god) But all of the side effects that i did enjoy with it go away after the first 6 months so i'm sure that it's not permanent and it will be in motion away.

Contraceptive injection Depo-Provera can lead to delicate bones in teens
by Mike Adams

Teenage girls who nick injections of the increasingly popular contraceptive Depo-Provera will likely terminate up with weaker bones, say a new study by a Seattle doctor. Health official are not overly concerned about the fresh report, however, because the study indicates that, once the girls stop taking the drug, their bone strength returns rather immediately.

* The long-acting injected contraceptive Depo-Provera, popular among adolescent women, produces a significant drop within bone mineral density -- but it seems to return once the drug is stopped, new research shows.
* "These findings are encouraging for those concerned about adjectives risk of fractures," the study's lead author, Dr. Delia Scholes, from the Group Health Cooperative surrounded by Seattle, said in a statement.
* "This information can be adjectives in helping babyish women balance the involve to avoid unintended pregnancies with the requirement to build strong bones."
* The findings, which appear in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent, are based on a study of 80 teenagers who used Depo-Provera (also prearranged as depot medroxyprogesterone acetate, or DMPA) and a comparison group of 90 young women who did not use the contraceptive.
* Compared next to this "control" group, bone mineral density at the hip and spine dropped significantly among DMPA users, the investigators note.
* Moreover, bone loss occur more rapidly contained by new users than contained by longer-term users.
* During the 3-year follow-up period, 61 of the users stopped getting injections of Depo-Provera.
* These women experienced a significant rise in bone density at adjectives body sites compared with controls, suggesting that the loss in bone density be reversible.
* "Given the increasing public health pressure of osteoporosis, factors that may affect crag bone mass attainment and maintenance own received deservedly greater emphasis," the authors record.
* The current findings suggest that the reversibility of DMPA-induced bone loss seen within older women also applies to younger users.

Women simply please.?

i would ask your doctor about that - and share your concerns near him or her. the only side effect i get from being on the Depo shot be weight gain - and it have been sturdy to lose.

Serious question roughly weight gain?

I go through the whole nine yard. Ten yrs. of "the pill", abstinence, and next an IUD that nearly killed me, and several other women. I finally got a Tube ligation.
Not to terrify you, but I think Dep is the start of Osteoporosis (thinning of the bones). It's hell, finding the right path. I don't want it on anyone. I say, Neuter the men. LOL

Ladies how several are over the age of 35 and would like to stop thier extent?

I have be on the shot for 3 years now and I am finally getting bad of it !! I don't know the answer for your hair issue, but for me I am experiencing unforgivable abdominal pain. They meditate it may be ovarian cysts or fibroids. I am sure they are not caused by the shot but the estrogen surrounded by depro definately makes them grow. Be painstaking if you choose to stay on it. I am having some serious regrets. There are a few statute suits against the makers of the shot right presently too... So can it really be that good for us ?? Take Care
