I own endometriosis, but cannot afford the surgery- Do I have any option?

Such as clinics that offer free services for this type of problem.

I return with a normanl period next about 10 days following a dark brown or black discharge for 5 days. What is it?

No model about free clinics - i am in the Uk where on earth health protection is free!

surgical treatments are not the only treatments available for endometriosis , and anyway surgery does not solve the problem but simply removes the endometriotic deposits that hold built up.

endometriosis is patches of womb bin liner in places save for inside the womb - most commonly within the pelvis. respectively month these patches are stimulated by your typical hormonal cycle and the endometrium grows and the bleeds. the abnormal patch result in collections of blood and deceased endometrium which can be painful and the scarring that results when the body tries to "tidy them up" can end in distortion of organs - eg fallopian tubes.

other than surgery in attendance are medical treatments to supress ovulation - no ovulation, no bleeding, no new collections, no scarring.

the cheapest means of access to do this is to use a combined oral contracpetive pill and to take 3 packet in a row wihout a break (tricycling). this mechanism the endometrium only bleeds once every 3 mnoths.

more expensive (and beside the potential for more side effects) is to use a drug to completely surpress ovulation such as zoladex.

surgey usually involves a laparoscopy and exision of any big collections / scars and laser diathermy ot the deposits (ie frying them so they dont bleed). in the UK this is usually reserved for women who are going to be trying for a pregnancy as soon as the surgery is done.
