How predictable is it to be diagnosed with PCOS lacking having adjectives of the symptoms?

I went for my per annum exam a few weeks ago and the doctor decided that I may enjoy PCOS because I've been have irregular periods lately. I am overweight, and own the problems with facial fuzz. They did the bloodwork and only my insulin and testosterone level were elevated. I have my daughter in 2004 and have no trouble conceiving her, and before her my period were totally regular. I a short time ago feel as though I don't fit the profile for have PCOS. Has anyone else been diagnosed near it but had a similar history as mine?

My educated guess is that you do own it. PCOS tends to attain worse as you get elder, as you gain weight, and after respectively pregnancy. So, it could be that as you are getting older that the symptoms are getting more distinct. I had totally average periods and have no trouble ttc when I was younger (no facial quill either)...but as I got elder things progressively got worse. I didn't concentration any symptoms, but now that I am a short time older...they are nearby.

The key things to indicate PCOS are the irregular period and the high testosterone and insulin level. Those two blood tests are immensely indicative of PCOS. Of course the facial hair is also a symptom. You own 5 symptoms...people catch diagnosed with merely 2 symptoms. Here's some basic PCOS info for you.

I recommend seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. They are unanimously more knowledgeable something like PCOS and the correct treatment. Unfortunately, many doctors are not aware of the proper treatment.

The underlying grounds of PCOS is insulin resistance (IR). The best treatment for PCOS is going on an insulin sensitizing drug such as metformin (1500-2550mg per day) combined with a low carb diet and exercise. There are a few big things to know:

1. Many women "pass" the test for IR, but still respond positively from the metformin. No one know exactlly why..my thought is that the test is not a sure fire style of detecting the IR.

2. You must be on a high satisfactory dose of metformin. I've heard women complain that their bodies dont start working even though they've be on metformin for awhile. Some doctors are hesitant to up the dose previous 1500mg...but for some of us it takes more. I don't respond until my dose is around 2000mg a daylight.

3. It can take a few months on the correct dose, until that time your body is regulated.

4. It is important to treat your PCOS even if you are not trying to attain pregnant. There are higher risks for abundant things (high blood pressure, blood clots, diabetes, and many other things) when you own PCOS, but if it is treated properly, then those risks are lowered.

When the PCOS is treated properly, adjectives of your symptoms may not disappear, but they should improve some. It will also be abundantly easier to lose weight (and save it off). Our bodies work against us when we try to lose weight on our own, making it nearly impossible to lose counterweight.

How long after u stop smoking does it take to stop craving nicotine?

I antipathy to say it but you DO fit the profile. Most woman own a hard time trying to conceive when they own PCOS, but for what ever reason that wasn't the overnight case your first time around. If you try again to conceive you may find a different story. PCOS is classified or general description. Overweight, facial or body pelt, skin tags, elevated insulin and testosterone level, male model baldness etc. There are a ton of websites out there on PCOS and that enjoy online quizzes you can take to see where on earth you fall into the category. Not adjectives woman that have PCOS own a difficult time conceiving but a MAJORITY of them do. Don't let this slid start treatment asap.
