What to do about an itchy vagina?

I have be scratching every time it itches but consequently it really burns when I do that.Then it becomes incredibly sore and itchy.The only time the itch go away is when i have my time or when I take a shower.I shower approaching twice a day newly to get rid of the itching but inside an hour it is back.What do I do?
