Try to breathe deeply and slowly during the procedure. Don't clench your chin, if you clench your jaw other muscles tighten as economically. Colposcopys are not the most comfortable of things to deal next to, I've had two and enjoy another at the end of this month. Try not to stress too much roughly it, get a moral nights sleep the darkness before. You might also try looking up some adjectives relaxation exercises online before you jump. I do meditation, and I've found that if I meditiate a little bit during the procedure, it make things way easier for me. Best of luck to you.

It is a bit discomfited but I would not say horrible. They enlighten you up front and through the procedure everything they are doing so your prepared. There is really no pain but you get the impression cramping. The cramping is similar to cramping you may experience while on your period. And it is in recent times a brief cramping, you do not feel that the integral time. But the procedure goes rapidly. I was fidgety to but I just asked my doctor to clearly explain the procedure and consent to me know what she is doing before she does it. Hope this help.
