First Gyno. Exam on Friday?

I'm going for the first time. What should I expect? I'm sexually active if that make any difference?

If you are sexually active it does gross a difference.

If you were a virgin, it would probably hurt more, and you may enjoy bled a little, but you are not, so that's fitting for you.

You will probably have a breast exam, and they will show you how to do self-exams at home.

You will enjoy an internal exam first, where fingers are inserted inside of you, and the doctor will also put a mitt on your belly to feel your ovaries, and beside his/her fingers they will hold on to your cervix and move your uterus around.

Then, the least satisfying object (speculum, I think), it's metal and cold (my Dr runs it lower than warm sea to warm it up for me, I hope yours does too) is inserted into you, and it is twisted enlarge a little bit. Two different Pap smears are after taken. One with a brush that looks resembling a long mascara brush, and the other that looks like a strange shaped tongue-depressor.

It can hurt a bit when they rub your cervix with these two smearers, but not discouraging and not for long.

The worst part is have the metal instrument inserted, but just remember to rob deep breaths, and you should be fine.

Since you are sexually live, the gyno might want to do a pelvic exam. This basically money that the gyno will use a finger to feel around inside of you to grain for any abnormalities. Well, let me say aloud Congrats and welcome to the World of Women. It is nought to be afraid of, though what could go undetected if you avoid going, is. They are your friend. If you are stressed, ask your gyno. to tell you what is going to start, step by step. Let them know that this is your first time and you are a bit nervous. Trust me, they are used to first-timers.

It's not bad. Lots of girls wont progress because they are scared or they cogitate its gross.
