Low thyroid hormones problem?

i had radioactive iodine 3months ago and since that my doctor didn't put me on any medication yet they other doing some tests on me but, very soon i have low thyroid hormones wich make me so puffy,i gain 35 pnd, in a apr. a month i dont know what to do? they said today they are going to give me some medication for thyroid any expirience beside this?

I have my thyroid removed 3+ years ago and also need to rob thyroid medication (hormones).

For me the medication started 3 days after my surgery at 100 mcg, the smallest dose is 25 mcg. After a few weeks on that dose I took a blood test and they raise my dose to 150 mcg. The process repeated until they found the proper dose. I am at 200 mcg, and have be up to 225 mcg.

Expect it to take 3-6 months to find the right dose, and your doctor will probably error on the side of counsel and start you at a low dose. You doctor should ideally check your thyroid levels every 6 weeks until you are at the proper dose, and later twice a year to make sure the dose is right.

my thyroid be removed by surgery about 15 years ago. I hold been on thyroid medication since. If you dont clutch it or have the wrong level you will not feel right. You probably own to be tested once a year to check your levels and once you carry the right dosage you should feel put money on to normal. Unfortunatly it took a while to get hold of the right amount. It may take a couple of months so sway in near.

I had used Lithium for 10 years when I suddenly gain 28 pounds and feel like I have just have the energy drained out of me. I found out that my thyroid Gland have stopped working. Pretty scary, also be very moody and PMS be so bad I could hardly stand myself. I depend on Thyroid medicine in a minute. I think we should be better informed almost Meds!!
