Can exercise really shorten your period?

I have hear people voice exercising a little shorten of how long you are on your interval. I am just wondering if to be exact true.

Athletes sometimes get irregular period because of their intense excercising routine. It can make your extent come late, or if you are training at an intense rate afterwards it might not come at all for a while. Mild excercise won't do this though, and it won't shorten all along your period. BUT, excercising DOES backing PMS! It shortens the amount of time that you are bloated and it reduces cramping. So if you own cramps, excercise!

The just thing I've ever hear (and indeed experienced) is that if your body fat drops too low, it can hold an effect. But this is most often attributed to anorexic extremes to some extent than toning with for a moment exercise.

Yes. I used to run and work out at the gym about 5 days a week. I go a couple months without getting my interval, and when I did get it, it merely lasted 2-3days. I don't exercise as much anymore and in a minute get my extent once a month for about 6 days.
