What is up with all these teenage girls getting pregnant
Answers: I ask this a lot at the youth shelter where I work. Here are some of the answers I got:
-They want someone to love them unconditionally.
- They like a guy so much they'll get pregnant thinking that the guy will actually want to be with them and love them because they're carrying his baby.
- They think its cool and want to fit in with their other prego girlfriends.
- They idolize the celebrities and want to be like them. (ie Jamie Spears, Britney Spears ect)
- They think a baby is gonna be their own little "LIVE" doll.
Yes its ridiculous, sometimes I cannot believe all I'm hearing. Its sickening but its happening more and more.
And trying to bring some sense to these girls doesn't work..
Nothing's up...teenage girls, like older women, have the potential to reproduce and thus some of them do. They always have and they always will. I think in a lot of places the rate has actually dropped over the past 20 years or so with better access to birth control. Also it's hard to get statistics because previously, teenage pregnanies were often hidden. Additionally, a lot of teenage pregnancies weren't considered a big issue a long time ago because it was more common for girls to be married and reproducing by 16.

They are idiots and obviously not even old enough to have sex responsibly and outrageously enough, a lot of them think it's cool, probably because Britney Spears little sister got pregnant and now every thirteen year old girl that watched her on Nickelodeon wants to be pregnant because that's what's going on in Hollywood, and teenage girls can't all think for themselves, so they just figure that whatever the hell they see on t.v. is cool so they try to do that. Idiots. Because of all these celebrities getting pregnant, girls are seeing babies as a kind of accessory (terrible, I know).
Plus, a hit teen movie, Juno, was about a girl who got pregnant.
Plus, people are way too frisky now a days and they don't want to have unprotected sex..
i have no idea. i was a sophmore in high school last year and we literally had 7 girls pregnant just in our class. it was insane. and who knows how many other ones got abortions. i dont know why they do it but ive heard a few of them saying its the only way their boyfriend will stay with them. are you kidding me? and i cant stand when other girls are like oh my god im so excited for you! whats its name?! blah blah oh yeah that babys going to have a wonderful life i bet They are idiots with low self esteems who validate themselves by pleasing guys. Also the teen celebrities getting pregnant (Jamie Spears) are just making it worse!
