What is the difference between a Colposcopy and Cone Biopsy?
Answers: Yes they are done for the same reasons...phenomenal cell changes from a pap smear. A colposcopy is where they unsophisticatedly use an instrument that looks like a large magnify glass to see your cervix up close. This part does not hurt as it is not inserted. They may wipe your cervix with a vinegary solution and that makes problem cell stand out for them to see. If they find a further problem then they take a biopsy which is a bigger cell example than from the pap smear. A cone biopsy is where they remove the entire problem area.
