During and past her period, a woman may experience a variety of ache and pains. The most common are menstrual cramps--the medical name is dysmenorrhea. Many women hold no cramps at all, others get slight stomach-ache. But some women have cramps that are so painful that it interferes beside their daily lives.
There are different kinds of cramps:
* A little discomfort - resembling a muscle cramp or spasm. Once you realize that it's a menstrual cramp, it doesn't really bother you
* Intense pain - this may be a sharp pain that cause you to double up or cry out
* Pain that spreads - starting in the lower abdomen, radiating up your spinal column and down your legs, or centering in your lower back
* Pain accompany by dizziness or nausea, diarrhea or vomiting.
If you have slight discomfort, intense, short pain or agony that spreads, you might be able to help yourself. If you suffer from dizziness, nausea, diarrhea or vomiting, or if you experience intense anguish that won't go away, see a doctor.
What you can do for yourself
There are many ways to sustain ease menstrual cramps. The trick is to find one that works for you. Try:
* lying down if possible at the first sign of niggle
* gently rubbing your abdomen
* mild exercise and stretching (see below)
* taking agony medication containing ibuprofen
Exercises to relieve cramps
If you exercise all month, you will help your body maintain from having cramps. Light exercise during your period will sustain to ease the heavy, bloated (puffy) consciousness. Workouts that stretch your body are best.
Here are a few exercises that are great for relieving cramps:
* Sit on the floor, legs as far apart as you can get them. Hold your toes if you can, or clasp your ankles lightly. Keep your wager on straight and breathe in, holding your diaphragm (the muscle under your ribs) up and contained by. Holding this position, take a few deep breaths. As you breathe out for the end time, bend forward towards the floor and exhale.
* Sit with your knees open and bent at the sides, beside the soles of your feet together in front of your crotch. Clasp your hand under your toes, or hold your ankles. Press the soles of your feet together and breathe within, deeply expanding your chest and lifting your diaphragm, as described above. Raise your head somewhat, and feel your stomach expand. Breathe in and out richly into your stomach four or five times.
* Lie on your back with one leg stretched out, and verbs the other knee up to your chin. Clasp your knee next to your arms to ease the strain and then hold the posture, relaxing for a few minutes.
If you achieve pain all of a sudden or interest a change in your period, you should contact a doctor.
Causes of pain during your period
If a woman doesn't become pregnant during her cycle, the facing of the uterus (endometrium) breaks down and hormones are released. These hormones, prostaglandins, tell the muscles of the uterus to squeeze the lining out. These muscles are indistinguishable ones that push a baby out during childbirth, so they are very strong. Some women may own a lot of prostaglandin, which makes their muscles squeeze faster and harder. It's believed that this is why we receive cramps.
What a doctor would do about cramps:
* Hormone treatments - some doctors give patients birth control pills to maintain women from ovulating. If you don't ovulate, you probably won't get cramps.
* Anti-prostaglandins: These are drugs that reduce the effect of prostaglandins (the hormones mentioned above) and a doctor may prescribe them for you.
* Surgery: within an extreme case, for example when severe cramps are caused by endometriosis, a doctor may carry out surgery with a laser..
I have hear of several ways to ease cramps:
1. Lay down on your back and put your foot up, like, higher than your hips.
2. Put a hot hose down bottle near the bottom of your stomach
3. This may not seem especially appealing, especially if you don't feel like it at the time, but exercise. It might lug your mind off of it and make you get the impression better
Last but not least: Try talking something like it with your mom or doctor. They may know how to help.
The 1st method that i suggested worked great for me when I tried it, so I would suggest trying it out. Also, I did not use any drugs to take the edge off the pain..
First off, if your cramps can be that unpromising its best for you to tell your doctor as you may have an unknown medical issue.
In the meantime, guzzle a banana (and yes I am serious) and use a hot water bottle on your tummy for 5 minutes, then your lower vertebrae for 5 minutes. While you do that, lay on your side with your knees bent and a pillow between your knees. While the hot water bottle is on your lower pay for, gently massage your lower tummy. .
My cramps are purly awful. I take one midol, and two ibproffin to just serene them and make them a little smaller amount painful. Do that and put a heating wipe on your stomach when it hurts. That helps me! Good luck, hun!! For my crucial cramps I make some heat up chamomile tea, It works!! As warm as you can take it. Add only a little sugar to give for a moment flavor. I am the same opening. I hardly ever get cramps but when I do it's close to Hell has been unleashed. My personal clandestine is two ibuprofen and two glasses of milk. The calcium helps releive cramping. Good luck! Well when you consistency it coming make sure you drink plenty of water and it will drop your cramps.. also try using a heating pad. :).
i catch them every time and the only thing iv found that works is nurofen and a hot hose down bottle, with lots and lots of sleep drink lots of water and also exercise..sounds abnormal but can alleviate the cramping.
