Can She Get Birth Control minus her moms authorization?
Answers: Yes, she can. Planned Parenthood of Oklahoma "believes that all people should enjoy access to reproductive health care and nurture. Therefore, minors (under the age of 18) who request medical services at PPCO are not required to have parental consent. As a part of our commitment to confidentiality, PPCO does not notify parents when a minor (under the age of 18) requests our medical services.
Minors who come to PPCO are other encouraged to involve their parents in condition care and health meticulousness decisions. Many of our young clients do choose to involve their parents. However, PPCO policy states that "...not a soul shall be coerced into involving another individual in making a private reproductive health supervision decision."
Gynecological exams and/or pap tests are NOT REQUIRED for birth control prescriptions at PPCO..
