Can I start have sex...?

Well, the question really is, when can I start have sex after taking birth control. This is my first time taking it, so when does it go into effect? I'm taking YAZ pills, and I'm going to do the "first daylight of period" start. So,after how long does it go into effect? I want the full 99% protection that it give. Thanks!

Answers:    It is recommended that you should use a second form of contraception (condoms) at least for the 1st month of starting hot birth control (and thereafter to prevent STI's).

Read the pamphlet in the box & address to the person prescribing.
I would lurk a week after just starting you're pills so your body can adjust to the unmarked medication, it worked for me. And remember just make happen your on the pill dosent mean you dont use a condom! idk sorry
im on impossible to tell apart pills the dr and my mom both told me it would take 3 months in the past they fully work and even on birth control you should still use a condom to protect against std I believe it's always a week previously it fully gets into your system. If you want to be sure, supply it two, but I've never heard anywhere to dawdle a month. I waited a week next to the pill and had no problems.
usually, next to the first day/period start, it's effective right away. if you are doubtful, if you hang around over a week, it will have kicked surrounded by for sure. when i started, i didn't do the sundary start or first day/period start. the doc just said to hang about a week (but not less!)
