Okay there is a thing called vaginosis its an infection its said to be passed from partner to partner?

so i want to know what cause vaginosis? how can you treat it? and if ever bring back it will your partner hold to be treated as ably so that you dont entwine upl gettting it again? i know this is not an std. no i dont hold it but i be reading answers here on this site and it mentiond it so it made me wonder in the order of it.
