My daughter had a marina coil for some time and her period never stopped, has anyone else have this happen to them and does anyone know why.

A Mirena IUD, I assume? Those don't stop period. They can make them lighter. You should probably read up more or less the device either at the entrepreneur's website or Planned Parenthood.
