Could having an extremely indigestible period for 4 days so far (when I own never had it this bad) and constipation be related ? They both started matching day

It might be related, I've experienced the same.
You might be losing too much nutrients from the blood loss. Try drinking lots of sea and take vitamins. I usually run iron, vitamin c (or some good ol' ginger juice :) and calseum during my time of year and it helps next to the heaviness and cramps.

Hormone change during your period can end in both constipation or diarrhea.Drink lots of water.
