UK only please: I'll be visit my GUM clinic for an infection i have as i can't get hold of to see my own doctor..?

I've received a letter to enjoy a smear test but as i've never be sexually active i don't regard as it's necessary, so won't enjoy this done.

But i do have an infection and from what i can get from checking info on various websites, it looks similar to i have BV! I'm gutted as this is a highly embarrasing infection.

If i go to a GUM clinic, is it critical to have an nouns done? Can i just relay the doctor what i think is wrong and ask for a prescription? Or can he beg to be excused to write a prescription because he hasn't examined me?
