For duplicate reason guys own a distinctive odor. Hormones, pheromones, sweat glands, etc. Why do you think inhabitants often resembling to have a shirt of their significant other? It smells similar to them.

Also, if you were to start taking estrogen supplements and androgen-blockers you'd start smelling approaching a girl too (and start developing secondary sexual characteristics, but that's besides the point).
