Mine lasted a full 7 days. It be kinda scary, especially self the first time, and it was pretty pouring, too. But it will depend a lot on her-it might be as short as 24 hours, 3 days, it depends on her body. It might be table lamp or heavy or it might stop in the middle through the week and start again. It also depends a lot on inheritance: how long was your first time? Hers and her flow will most likely be greatly similar to yours. My mom wasn't worried because her period have been one and the same when she first started; knowing that helped.
A ordinary period shouldn't be longer than a week, though, whether it's the first or she's be having it for years. If after 7 days it's still lashing, have her checked by a doctor.
