Nipple discharge?

I'm not pregnant and I have never be but I get the notion that my breasts are full sometimes and when I squeeze my nipples a milky substance comes out. Does anyone know what causes this and what it is?

I know that I'm not pregnant for a certainty because I haven't done anything in over a year that would get me pregnant.
