When you first start your period, it won't be regular, and you can alternate between sweet and light flows for a few months (or longer). When it's heavier, you entail to use a pad beside a higher absorbancy, which, on the ones I use, are indicated by the number of raindrop shapes on the box ( the more, the more absorbant they are), or only just tell you whether they're for a insubstantial, medium or calorific flows. The box should give you some conception of how long you can wait in the past changing it, but I should reckon it would be no longer than 6 hours for any kind.

Change your pad every 4 hours or more as needed. It can be months to a couple of years for your periods to be regulated. Generally, the first morning is light, after it can get heavier, afterwards lighter before it stops. Regular bleeding time is 4-7 days.
