I think the actual question is why do you want to start shaving your vagina? Who do you plan to show it to? If you're 12, you want to think long and sturdy about the consequences of intimacy. Teenagers are seedy for not being as mistrustful as they should about who they sleep near and the precautions they use. Even if you're incredibly careful, your partner might not be, and at hand are some things that are possible to pass on even near a condom.
If you're not interested in becoming sexually active, what's the point? If it bugs you, ask her if you could trim it instead of shave it, believe me that stuff itches close to heck growing back.
