What happen during a mammogram and does it hurt?

For 2 days now my not here breast feels stout and sore especially on the underside but not the nipple or my right one. I'm 39 and has have hysterectomy, so I can't be expecting my period. I'm worried that it might be a sign of something more serious though here's no history of breast cancer in my familial. Will a mammogram show anything? Or are there other test I can take? Any thought what's happening? Thanks.

mammogram=minimum spasm. they arrange your breast on a metal plate and squish is, but it's squished equally throughout so there aren't any pressure points. It's not even as awkward as you would deduce. They put little stickers w/ a tiny lead orb in the middle on your nipples so they can communicate where they are. Taking the nipple stickers bad = most painful quantity of the whole piece. If you have to be in motion in for a second mammogram (a diagnostic), it will hurt for a while bit more bc/ they squish only the specific nouns that they are concerned about. I hold a huge family history of breast cancer so I've already have a mammogram, diagnostic mammogram, and ultrasound (I'm 24 years old).

Help me..?

Go to your doctor for a complete exam, including a thorough breast exam. As for a mammogram, they're a bit uncomfortable when the breast is squeezed to flatten out the tissue for easier viewing, but better than living in start.

Hi J_ cllari, WOW those mammogram they are something else let me bring up to date you what they do to you.You have to run off your clothes from the waist up. Then you linger until they call you autograph. Then they take you into a small room next to this machine of apprehension. You have to drop your glown from the collar to chest area, afterwards they lead you to the MACHINE and it have a cup on it. You have to put one breast contained by that cup and hear it comes a flat plate and it presses down your boob as far as it will go. This is when you start yell for your mommy. It hurts some and if that MACHINE OF TERROR ever broke with your boob traped contained by that cup you might as well shot me presently. Where is my mommy HELP! Then you have to do the other boob and be in motion through that HELL again. But one good item out of this you no longer have any BOOBS Just kid. They can see if you have cancer or something else. So my friend hold lot's of funny at your Mammogram and you will see.. LOL LOL..
