Id try a 34 DD. Each bra also varies according to style and factory owner. 80% of all American women hold the wrong size usually to small a cup and too large a group size. Keep trying its so worth it to find a comfortable supportive one. I buy 3 or 4 more after Ive tried one for a few days and it fits Good Luck

Although if you say a 36D be too big in the trimming, but too small in the cup, I would right to be heard try a 34DD or 34DDD.
