Experience of the Mirena coil (UK one and only please)?
Hi, does anyone have experience of using the Mirena coil? I hold been on the pill for 5 years. I didn't close to Microgynon (depression) but have settled on Cilest, which seem to work ok apart from irregular periods/spotting. I've just read an article in the order of Mirena and like the nouns of the reduced hormone dosage, and also less verbs about forgetting a pill.
Could you consent to me know of your experiences of
-availability and prescription (costs?)
-fitting the coil
-wearing in general (is it apparent at all?)
-side effects (particularly depression, and compared to using the pill.)
-removal

I am mannish so my answers my be slightly biased.
My girlfriend has it fitted. There is no cost to hold it fitted by your healthcare provider as it will be on the NHS.
The coil is placed in the uterus and this may produce some discomfort. Mirena is most appropriate for women who have have at least 1 child.
My girlfriend can not touch it at all. I can freshly manage to touch the strings that are used to remove it.
I can't comment on side effects but my girlfriend say that once your body is used to the small amount of a hormone each afternoon then it is not noticable at adjectives.
Finally mirena has purely been approved for hefty menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia) in the UK by NICE.

My experience of Mirena be entirely unhappy. There is no cost. Having it inserted be excruciating - I drove to the clinic and really felt I should enjoy had someone next to me to take me home. The backache lasted for weeks constantly and after intermittently for months. The doctor kept saying Just Persevere. I go to the clinic loads of times to get it taken out and respectively time ended up spinal column outside with it stillin wonering how that happen. My partner constanty complained that something was pricking him and on several occasion he got a sore as a result. The doctor said it be impossible but when I finally had the item removed it was approaching thick fishing telecommunication cut at an angle and it was unbelievably sharp. The reason I have it removed in the cease was that I developed a strange odour. Three days after the coil be removed there be no trace at all. It may not be like for you but this is my experience.my experience of this device be bad, have it fitted is really horrible, i nearly fainted, later i felt highly achy for a week or so .
then ifelt really markedly disconnected,spacy and i had no desire at adjectives, i was not interested in person physical with my partner.
when i asked to enjoy it removed the doctors were markedly patronising and disbeleiving , it was a releif to enjoy it removed, i felt nomal again,

Sorry I'm not in the UK, but have to comment. I'm in the US and I hold the Mirena.........I love it. I haven't had any side effects. I did enjoy a lot of spotting for the first few months after getting it. I haven't have a real interval since having it put surrounded by place over 7 months ago. I have 5 kids and didn't own any pain have it placed.Good luck with your conclusion!!
they dont usually distribute it to u unless u have have a child because of the size of ur womb and i had serious cramping and bleeding for over 2 weeks when i get the mirena in

I have it and it wasnt too bad getting it inserted and no backache afterwards. I tried it for about a year and although I have no pain I did attain occasional light bleeding between period. I had it removed and again it be painless. Its worth trying as it really suits some people and if it doesnt suit you it is effortlessly removed. It is free, just see your gp.hi i have the mirena coil fitted and it was resembling being contained by hell i bleed for 6 to 8 weeks at a time am in constant spasm as a result my partner and myself never have sex i am due to own an opp in 2 weeks time to see what is going on as the doctor said (it cant be the coil) it is expensive but i did return with mine on the nhs. good luck
