What causes numbness on one side of the face? Could it be a side effect of a new birth control?

I just not long (1 1/2 months ago) started a new type of birth control; yasmin. I have an ear infection during the time that I started the new birth control and be on antibiotics to kill the infection. I started notice that I was have numbness on the right side of my face. I enjoy continued having this numbness immediately for 1 1/2 months and the ear infection is long gone along with the antibiotics. Could this be a side effect of the yasmin? I never have this problem when I was on seasonale. Just curious to see if anyone else have ever had these same symptoms.
