Does inflammation hold fluids?

I recenly found a lump in my not here breast and have be going to different docs for the past month or two. They, the doctors, lately said that it could be inflammation or a cyst. I do have a strong house background of cancer and noncancerous cysts. Any ways I be wondering if the type of inflammation that I MAY have could hold fluids or not?

Yes, inflammation will hold fluids. Mast cells release histamine which allows fluid into the interstitial spaces to "flush out" the substance cause the inflammation into the lymph system and also allows leukocytes to the area to directly attack the substance producing the inflammation.
